Vitamin C is a very important component of food for Guinea pigs. Some of the foods that you can give them are Vitamin C rich pellets, red bell peppers, carrots, apples, oranges, cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach leaves, grapes and parsley. The only thing that they don’t enjoy eating is bread so avoid giving them that
The average life expectancy for a guinea pig is around four to eight years. Guinea pigs are strict herbivores (vegetarians) and should never be given meat. Do not give a guinea pig human foods such as chocolate and biscuits. Avoid giving avocados, onions, and the green part of tomato plants. If in doubt about what to feed, always check if it's safe before offering it.
Groom them well
Most small animals like rabbits don’t require much grooming but guinea pigs require special attention. You should also keep a check on the length of their nails and take them to a vet occasionally to get their nails clipped. People who have a long-haired guinea pig must brush their coat at least once a day to avoid ticks and lice.
